Reflexology was originally used in Egypt as far back as 2500 BC, as seen in pictures found in tombs, Drawings of reflexology treatments have also been found in India, China and Japan.
An interesting fact is that Buddhist monks in India, China and Japan have been doing these pressure massage healing to the feet, hands and ears for generations, the Native Americans have been doing this also,
Modern day reflexology can be linked to the following people -
Dr William Fitzgerald - Worked in Vienna, Austria as an ENT specialist and came across Reflexology from medical publications.
Eunice Ingham - A physiotherapist who made a separation between work on reflex points and named it reflexology.
Dwight Byers - Eunice's nephew who continues her work to the present day.
Doreen Bayly - Trained by Eunice Ingham and the person who took reflexology to our shores in 1966.
